nations...teaching them to observe all that I commanded you,
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age"

The following is a message from R.J. Evans, who is the preacher and one of the elders for the church there:
We express our sincere thanks for the overwhelming response of brethren from all over the country concerning the needs of the 14 flooded families of the Southside Church of Christ, Gonzales, LA. These needs have now been fully met. I do not have the words to thank all who spread the news to brethren across the country, all the churches who have responded, the individual Christians who have sent checks with wonderful notes of encouragement and assurances of their prayers for us.
By God's providence, through our wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ the world over, we have received "exceedingly abundantly above" all that we could have ever imagined.
Yesterday (August 28, 2016) in our "News" section of the weekly bulletin I wrote the following:
OUTPOURING OF LOVE
"The elders have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love relief from brethren all over the country on behalf of our members who had their homes flooded. It has been phenomenal! To those families among us who have been affected by the THE GREAT FLOOD OF 2016, not only are you loved among us, you are loved and cared for by hundreds and hundreds of brethren all over the nation. We have truly seen the command to "Love the brotherhood" (1 Pet. 2:17) put into action that is almost beyond belief! This is so comforting and encouraging to our flooded families."
The elders determined that our needs would total approximately $500,000 -- never thinking we would receive that much. We have reached that point and will be returning everything above that amount. Please be patient with us. We have a lot of mail to deal with.
Thus, on behalf of the elders -- Harris Lefort, Ken Robertson, Dennis Stutzman, and myself -- we express our tremendous gratitude to all of you who sent relief to us. All the flooded families are SPEECHLESS AND SINCERELY GRATEFUL! May God continue to richly bless all of you in His service.
In Him,
R.J. Evans

The Steps That Lead to Eternal Salvation
1) Hear the gospel, for that is how faith comes (Rom.
10:17; John 20:30,31).
2) Believe in the deity of Christ (John 8:24; John
3:18).
3) Repent of sins (Luke 13:5; Acts 17:30).
4) Confess faith in Christ (Rom. 10:9,10; Acts
8:36-38).
5) Be baptized in water for the remission of sins (Mark
16:16; Acts 2:38; 22:16; Rom. 6:3,4; Gal. 3:26,27; 1 Pet. 3:21).
6) Continue in the faith, living for the Lord; for, if
not, salvation can be lost (Heb. 10:36-39; Rev. 2:10; 2 Pet.
2:20-22).
